There is tremendous value in examining various aspects of human nature in preparation for your work as a frontline fundraiser. A great place to start is with an overview of basic personality types, beginning with your own, so you can better identify and relate to a possible donor who may see the world differently than you.
You want to connect, so why not do some homework, why not make an intentional effort that will improve your chances of making a meaningful connection?
I have designed an Overview of Personality Types as a training and reference resource for frontline fundraisers. The four page overview includes three key reference tables.
The first provides an overview description of each of the four personality types I have chosen to identify. This basic level of familiarization will come in handy as you compare these notes with those people you actually meet.
The second table, a list of considerations on how to engage with the various personality types, provides some simple suggestions you can refer to as you begin to build each new relationship.
The third table encourages you to identify your own personality type as you consider how you will relate successfully to each of the others.
