Competence and Confidence – a Recipe for Success

I believe every frontline fundraiser should possess the competence and the confidence to successfully engage each new prospect in a way that, at minimum, initiates a meaningful gift discussion. Competence includes a working knowledge of relationship building, prospecting techniques, pertinent tax laws, and various giving plans. Confidence grows through study, practice, and success.  The fundraiser’s confidence becomes contagious, as prospective donors grow confident in the fundraiser’s capabilities.  I hope you see the cycle of success at work here.  Commit to study, to listen & learn, to test lessons in the field.
